Pc To Xbox Problems
« on: April 20, 2006, 12:26:00 PM »

It's been almost a month since I successfully modded my Xbox. I have tried three differnet dashboards. EvoX, Avalaunch, and UnleashX. None of these have solved my problem. I cannot FTP to my XBox. I think my PC doesn't recognize that the XBox is there. I am using a crossover cable, which I know is in good working condition, and the IPs are both set to static (192.168.0.1 on PC; 192.168.0.2 on Xbox) When I try to ping the box, I get a request timed out. I know all of the settings in the avalaunch config file are set right. I have tried DHCP and my PC won't give an IP. I have also tried using a hub. Doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

you don't mention what FTP client you have used .
I have had good results with IPswitch & CloneXB v2.1.
try this guide as well.

I have used SmartFTP and FlashFXP. But I don't think it is a client problem, because I cannot ping the Xbox's IP.

with a crossover cable set up;

PC Settings;
Type; static (assign manually)
IP; 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask' 255.255.255.0
Gateway; leave blank
DNS; leave blank

Xbox Settings;
Type; static
IP; 192.168.0.3
Subnet mask; 255.255.255.0
Gateway; 192.168.0.2 (your PCs IP address)
DNS; 0.0.0.0

I found that with Avalaunch unless I set the Xboxes gateway to my PCs IP address I got '0.0.0.0 Err X'

If using FlashFXP, go to options>preferences, make sure 'list type' is set to default and 'use passive mode' is disabled.

If that doesn't work you've got some faulty hardware somewhere

Tried that.
Xbox plays system link games fine.
PC connects with other computers fine.
BIOS issue?
Software issue?
