Well, after the "professional modder" i sent my brand new PS2 to sent me this:

"I'm picking the PS2 up from my buddy later today. He was not able to install the damn chip either. All points are able to be soldered, except those tiny gold rectangular points. I'm going to disconnect the chip itself and make sure the PS2 still works ... so ... DAMMIT!"

Heh. Anyone got any tips that I could tell him to try before he sends it back? And if not that... anyone in the Norman, OKC area who can actually chip slimline PS2s? I'm going to try and take it back to best buy this week (pending i can find the receipt) just in case the system has some kind of voodoo... but I'm dying to have this chip done.

I'm a poor college student and already wasted my cash 2 ways sending it back and forth from this guy... but anyone who can offer to help, I'm open
