Like the title says I want to know if I can use the MS DVD remote to scroll up and down in evox. And also will it let me select from a menu in evox i.e. (can I scroll to my applications and select an app to run by just using the remote keys)

im not 100percent sure but i dont think u can use the remote on evox.

bottom line... if u want to use the remote to navigate through menu's etc... get XBMC (XBox Media Center)

hope that helps you a little (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

thanks for the reply... i just learned something new (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ... although not many people would want to use there remote on evox since theres no real point to it (nothing against you) cause even though u can go through the menu's and start a game or app etc u still need a controller to play the game... so unless you did something like using evox as your main dash and then use the remote to start XBMC from evox then use the remote to play back pictures or videos etc on XBMC i dont really see any real benifit to use a remote on evox ... basically the remote's main use thats actually good is for XBMC ... i dont have a remote myself since i recently got a logitech wireless controller so im pretty much set now since im not limited by distance anymore and im used to navigating through the menu's etc with a controller on XBMC and im used to the buttons on the controller... i would like to get a remote but after getting the wireless controller i dont think it would be worth the 20 or so dollars it would cost to get one.

just my thoughts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yeah, I have my 360 now so most of my xbox games are now played on my 360 so I really don't use my xbox for anything other than the media center. And since I got a pretty good deal on a DVD kit I thought I would buy it so that I could do the mod to add the power on/off functionality to it. But before I went through all of that I wanted to make sure that once I powered on my xbox that I could scroll to XBMC or some other app and launch it without using the controller.
