This is my first post since I joined! Anyways after reading a ton of posts in general and about your same problem I figured a very easy and quick way around this. It's more of a "workaround" then a fix.
Use any cd/dvd drive(from your PC most likely) and power it either by...
*Using a 4prong female power splitter so you can split the power cable currently being used by the hard drive to also power the cd/dvd drive (you can get a splitter from most any pc shop for a dollar or two)
*Use any PC power supply and just hook it up temporarily to power the cd/dvd drive.
That will get your EvoX installed without all the wasted cds/dvds and time burning and trying different media's and such. I personally think that is so much easier and afterwards just swap in your stock dvd drive and you are back in business.
I'm not sure what you where asking about burning. When you burn the EvoX disk there is no need for a dummy file. The iso is all you need. Sorry if that's not what you where looking for.
