Xbox Modifications In San Diego

Hey Ferd...

Do me a favor and check out the post I made under "No boot" under the newbie topics. I fubar'd an Xbox I think...shit I'll just put it in here.

Okay this is the scenario...

My boy wanted me to go ahead and TSOP flash his 1.0 with an ST chipset on it. Anyways, I solder the points...boot it up and here's the sequence it goes through. It boots, turns off, back on, turns off and then alternately goes Orange to Red with no video. Tried to just boot off the DVD drive with a game and still no go. Don't know what heezy I did. So I took it apart again and removed all the solder points and still no go. Does the same thing.

Just wondering if you ever read a post on something like this or have come across this problem. If ANYONE has run across this problem, please PM me or add a reply to this topic. Thanks.

Just wanted to add some positive feedback for RoboChicken here...  He did a great job installing my Xecuter 2.3b and 120 gb HD, and I would recommend him to anyone in the San Diego area. Very friendly and willing to help out with whatever questions you may have! Thanks man beerchug.gif

Thanks for the great feedback  smile.gif
Hope you're enjoying your Xbox!

I'm actually having fun doing this. Plus I've learned so much from the scene and from my customers I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you right back

Hey Robotic Chicken,

I didn't realize that my 1.0 had an ST chip on it. Anyways, I've been TSOP'n 4 Xbox's every other day. Being busy is to say the least. Anyways, since you're thanking your customers, I think it's time to give credit where credit is due.

Fred will not hesitate to show you what's up. He basically knows the 'In's' and 'Out's' of the XBox. When I had problems with TSOP'n certain XBox's, he would always help me out. He would be the first and last person that I would turn to for assistance. I've known Fred for quite some time now and that's the type of person he is...always helpful. Again, thanks for the help Fred...I owe you a hug...okay that was gay. Okay more like a beer. Okay you can't drink alcohol...umm I'll give you a high five. How's that?

About that 1.0 you got there- did you try following that tut and try booting the first 256k of the TSOP? Let me know if you have probs and I'll hop the fence and we'll work on it

I haven't tried it. Kinda gave up on it last night since I had 3 other box's I had to flash. That particular box has been giving me problems. If push comes to shove, I might have to just but the Halo Edition XBox and give that dude my old one. We'll see what's up. But I will try that first to see what happens. Hopefully it will work.

History on that box:

-v1.0/ST chipset

So yah I spilled solder on the legs of one of the chips a while back. Desoldered and I was good to go. Desoldering braid is one of the bets things ever made. AUF007, flashed with M7ef and it booted it up properly. Evevn loaded Slayer's on the retail HDD. Time passes on and the guy FINALLY gave me the money for the HDD and being the nice guy that I am, I went ahead and bought a 120gb HDD for him yesterday. Installed it, loaded Slayer's, FTP'd and put my evox.ini file and +3935. So I tried to FTP from Xbox to XBox to load my back up games  wink.gif on his XBox. It had a hard time just creating the folders. Decided to reflash the BIOS. Loaded M7 and as SOON as I pressed 'Y' to flash, the bitch just turned off, wanted to restart and it did a 3 reboot cycle. Got the Red-Green Alternating. So that's my worse story ever on TSOP'n an XBox.

Tonight:

I'm going to try and do this: So You Screwed Up Your XBox and see what happens. Like I mentioned above, if this doesn't work, it looks like I'm running down to Fry's and picking up a Halo Edition XBox for myself.

Anyways, wish me luck. I have all this time at work that's why I'm posting this. Whoever's reading this might have a lot of time on their hands also.

Robochicken:
Whenever YOU get slammed, let me know. I'll do the same but I don't do as many boxes as you do.  biggrin.gif

Thanks for the props on TSOP'n by the way. Learned from the best.  wink.gif
