Is My Evox Installed Correctly?
« on: October 15, 2004, 10:15:00 PM »

Hi all,

I finally connected my xbox to my pc thanks to a excellent tu from a forumn member, & I then followed a tutorial on how to load the evox to your xbox.  So it actually seemed pretty easy, and when I was doine I ejected the CD, & powered off the xbox & turned it on, but I dont "THINK" its the Evox loaded up.  What i get on screen is the big huge X# logo sloiwly spinning with a menu that looks like this:

X3 config Live
bios tools
disk tools
eeprom tools
settings
hardware info
- - - - -  - - - - -
reboot to dash
cold reboot
power off

Is this how its supposed to look?  Could someone notify me if theres something incorrect here.

Thank you

That doesnt look like a menu from a normal EvoX dash.  a normal one should have items like, launch menu, msdash, reboot, trainers, settings..ect.  I think that you may have transferred the boot disk files onto your dash instead of the regular EvoX dash files.  put in the Evoxdash.xbe file (or it may be called xboxdash.xbe, depending on what your bios loads.) and the evox.ini file, and you should have a regular dash!  good luck!

Im a newbie to this, & Im not sure if the correct files have been downloaded into the xbox hardrive.  Below is a copy of the file I see in the xbox C: drive when i connect to xbox with FlashFXP:

audio
fonts
skins
xboxdashdata.17f14d00
xodash
evoix.ini
msxboxdash.xbe
xbox book.xtf
xbox.xtf
xboxdash.xbe

I added the evox.ini file into the xbox without changing anything, so Im thinking my its something I didnt change in the evox.ini file that i should have maybe?  If you need to see the evoux.ini file I loaded into the xbox below is a copy:

first of all, rename msxboxdash.xbe back to xboxdash.xbe, then the evox file to evoxdash.xbe. Unless you chip is unflashable and about 2 years old, you shouldn't need to rename the otiginal xbox dashboard.

Yours is evox, but it looks to me like somebody edited the menus a bit to be an xbox manager. That is fine though.

What are you having trouble with? Connecting? If so, how is it set up; router or crosscable connection?

Remove the evox.ini file and you should get the standard menu.

Im not sure on this but I think the screen your looking at is another Dash. Check out this tutorial. It is directly from TeamExecuters website on how to install Evolution X .
