Renaming Games
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:30:00 PM »

After backing up games to my hard disc using dvd2xbox i have been given some peculiar file names and some in captials. I want to change these all to lower case and make it look much better and easier to read. Now i assumed that this would be a simple rename of the folders within my E: and F: drives and i did this but when i got to the 'Load Game from hard drive screen' i am still left with the original file names.

What do i need to edit to change these to what i want?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know that you can do it with a hex editor.  That's what I used.  However, I thought I heard someone say there is a tool that is much easier to use.  There is a tut in that explains how to do it with a hex editor, I couldn't find it just now for a link, but you can do that.  I would also check the tools section for an easier tool than the hex editor....  good luck

download XBE Renamer - it's for the PC. have your box connected and be sure to set the IP addy in the options part. load it up and either scan your HD or find a specific xbe file to rename

or if you have avalaunch you can hit start and choose to rename it within there.

if used slayers and have avalaunch in your apps folder try using the file manager in ava.  I know it lets you rename files and i don't think a game name should be any different.
