M$ Dash Unable To Load
« on: October 13, 2004, 03:27:00 PM »

After using the 007 ltools v1.7.5 soft mod, everything is working great except for the Original M$ dash. If I click to go to the Original dash in Evox it just hangs, and I have to reboot. I have checked the evox.ini file and have it pointed to the right xbe file on the C drive. This xbox has a production date of Aug. 2002 and had the dash version 4817 when I did the soft mod

Here is what is on the C drive

Everything looks okay.  I did notice however, that your xboxdash.xbe is 1.88 MB.  Mine is 1.55 MB.  I think that it's possible that the file has become corrputed, or maybe, the wrong file is named xboxdash.xbe. have your tried replacing the file with your backup?

It should.  Even though I don't like slayers, I think that the MS files in it are good, and straight from the origional M$.

My backup of my C partition, that is completely untouched has the following folders:
Audio folder
Fonts folder
xboxdashdata.1012A700
xodash folder
Xbox Book.xtf
Xbox.xtf
xboxdash.xbe

I know that you may have different files depending on your version.  However, I know that if you have these, you will be fine.  I would delete everything you have, replace it with these that are included with slayers, and then instead of using slayers, I would just FTP in the things you want.  I just see so many problems with slayers.  good luck.

You should update to an xbox live dashboard. It may just be my preference, but i can't stand lose files on the base of a partition. I'm glad ms cleaned it up.
