Tester,

Yo what a funny original post.  Listen, can you flash my X2lite+ for me?  I can't seem to flash it due to the "linuxboot.cfg" problem.  I am also in texas.  I will be glad to send the chip to you, and it should be easy (for you) to do.

I have installed an x2lite (when it came pre-flashed) before, so I won't need the chip installed.  Just flashed.  Please email me and let me know how much this will cost.

Thanks!

btw tester,

I would PM you, but I have no idea what that is.

Also what does it mean "bump"?  I've seen that a few times on this message board.

The only thing I'll flash a chip with, is the cromwell bios. Thanks

tester, I'm interested in a 128mb ram upgrade. What is the cost of this? I don't have any ram chips with me, so I'm looking for ram chips + install.

version 1.1 xbox

1. What does your Xbox do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot it up?

Goes to the error code screen.  (See #7)

2. What did you do to it right before you started having problems?

Father tried to install the original X-ecuter, obviously it didn't go so well.

3. What version of Xbox do you have?

v1.0

4. What mod chip are you using?

None, at this point in time.  The X-ecuter was removed.

5. Will it boot up with the chip disabled?

n/a

6. Will it boot up with the chip enabled?

n/a

7. What error code are you getting, if you're getting one?

Error Code 7 - HDD Timeout.  I sent my Xbox to smokeingit to repair, unfortunately he hasn't had much luck with it.  Here are some quotes from him to sum up the situation (in chronological order, latest being last):

"I have located 2 damaged points, and i have resolder it. i dont know how they got damaged. maybe you dropped the iron by the nvidia chip. but thats the reason why the IDE is not working correctly. i am trying to retrack it in another method."

"it seems that there is more damange then meets the eye. "

"i am having some trouble so a friend of mine that does this is also going to look at it tonight. i will tell you tomorrow morning if its fixable or not."

"it sucks that the ide keeps timing out every time. so there must be more then meets the eye."

Given what he has said, I doubt it's repairable, but I figured I would post in this thread anyway.  If he's unable to fix it, but you believe that you can, I'll have him ship the Xbox to you instead of back to me.  If at all possible, I'd like to avoid having to mod my working Xbox, because my step brother might sign on Live without disabling the modchip, which is obviously a bad thing.

8. Post pics if you got them, they help tremendously.

Don't have any, unfortunately.

Thank you for your time.

Well, to start off. I can make it to where you can't access the MS dash with the chip on. Only when the chip is off, will you be able to access live. I do this on a regular basis for customers.

I'll PM you for more info on the repair. I need to ask you some questions. Thanks
