you can. Install the tHcdash as a alternative dashboard. But you have to start x-switch every time you want to launch another dashboard...

Looks good but... when i try and install anything it doesnt seem to work. I install Evolutpoin-X manually, but when i boot up this disk and install skins or apps. It takes a while and says that it is copying all the files... but then NONE of the apps show up(unless the only app that it installed was dvd2xbox and i already had that) and about 3 skins installed our of the 100 that were supposed to... any ideas?

Is this because i'm still usuing the original hard drive? I'm planing on getting a new one but i dont know if i should use this disk or not.

Also could it be a CD problem?


P.S. Is it bad to do the "all-in-one" format and install to my original hard drive?

Well an F drive shows up, buti cant put anything on it.

Wait... it still says my HDD is locked. Could that be a problem?

I jsut tried the "all-in-one" format and install evox and apps.

Took like 1 hour to install, but then when i rebooted i just get this screen with a list of errors like

"the dashboard could not be loaded"

And some other stuff, so i'm going ot bott up and install evox manualy.

But i still want to use this disk to get all the apps and skins and emu's!!! And i tried putting the disk in my PC and copying the files over FPT, but(as i should have guessed) my PC cant read the  disk.

any ideas on how to get it to work?

ok here is a question that you guy can probable answer (i hope) i have given up on trying to do anything form the CD. Some times when i browse the cd through FTP on my computer, all the files will show up. But most of the times i jsut see alot of folders and when i go into them there is nothing there! And when i try to copy the files from the CD over ot my compter, it either goes HELLA slow or does work at all. So now i just want a way to get all the files that are on that cd (the ISO i have too) onto my computer, i can transfer them fine to my xbox from my PC, its just the darn cd. So is there any way i can extract the files form the ISO? Or from the CD? Any ideas?

it still MIGHT be a cd-rw type problem, but would it not boot at all if it didnt like my media? Or could it just be that the things that i am trying to copy are on the very edge of the disk?


Plz i need some help here.

P.S. will it help at all to unlock my HDD? if so how.

Ok well i solved part of it. I used xISO to extract it on my computer then i transfered all of the files that i want over to my xbox. But i still want to use the format/instlal feature once i get my new hard drive.


So i think i will try installing my PC DVD drive in my xbox, my only questions is wat should i do about the power cable? Its way different on the xbox then the PC. Should i leave te power cable plugged into the computer.

Any help would be nice

only if its a 10 GB seagate version m8 . It wont work on the old 8Gb hds though.
