I have getting a 120gig HD I have to choose between a Western Degital 7200 rpm or a Maxtor 5400 rpm

I heard it is better to get 5400 because it will heat up less do you guys now which brand is better western digital or matrix? and which one would you choose?

go with the 5400 rpm

7200 rpm get's too hot and can over heat your xbox!!

If they were both 7200 rpm which one is better Western Digital or Maxtor?

I'd have to disagree with the above two posts ... Western Digital is known to have a much higher RMA rate than Maxtor.

Both companies are good at replacing HDDs under warranty though, so as long as you keep regular backups all you might be losing is a few days.

Oh, and DEFINITELY go with the 5400 RPM drive. I have two of those in my TiVo and they have been running 24x7 for the last one year without any problems whatsoever.
