to me the XBO360 and PS3 seem like a better choice... One has Blu-Ray and the other HD DVD (via add on).

The fact that is the Wii is impressive, but the last thing I would dare buy. It may look nice and sport pretty neat features, the whole Wii-mote thing and all... However, the max Resolution of 480p and the lack of ability of even playing a DVD movie, that right you CANNOT even watch a movie it, it's pretty much strictly a Gaming system plain and simple, the graphics aren't even that great, it's just a revision of the GameCube to me.

Wow... thats all I've got to say to that.. your dense dude.. I've just gotta re-quote this part.. "that right you CANNOT even watch a movie it, it's pretty much strictly a Gaming system" <--- wow... Um... hm... have any nintendo products supported video playback? Is it like an advertised feature..? The Wii wasn't made to playback movies, and honestly if your going to get a PS3 just for bluray your dumb. HD-DVD and bluray both support the same aspect ratio.. your dumb dude.. I just wanna say it one more time... your dumb.

Oh by the way I totally dig the Xbox 360 & Wii combo, I love my 360 for my geeky gaming addiction and the Wii makes a great system to play with friends that don't have hardcore gaming addictions such as my own.

Yeah......... PS3 owns nothing in system specs, well Wii but not 360. Do some reading on Sony's numbers, people have revealed the true numbers and its not impressive. Suffice to say PS3 IS NOT more powerful. Simple as that. Owns the 360, man your a n00b.

Well do you have any links to back up your claims?
I have a PS360 combo...for all you Wii60 people...
Oh and I am typing this in the PS3 browser...
Well lets look at the 360 and PS3 specs again
360=3 core 3.2ghz PPC
PS3=8 core 3.2ghz PPC64
360=500mhz ATI graphics 512mb shared with system
PS3=550mhz NVIDIA graphics 256mb dedicated to video
360=512mb DDR2? RAM shared with graphics
PS3=256mb XDR RAM dedicated to system...
they both have the same amount of ram, however they are using different kinds of ram and have distributed it differently. The PS3 uses a faster graphics card clock speed and obviously has a processor that is more powerful. The XDR Ram is considerably faster.

All of 2005 and nearly all of 2006 .. I said PS3 would be at the top because of the millions of people with Playstation 2's.  If you're used to the PS2 and already have a collection, like their controllers, etc.. why would you want to switch?  I had no doubt in my mind that Sony would come out on top this generation, even if they launched late.

Then the ball drops .. price.

Nobody expected it to cost so much.  It literally changed everything.  Just how much of the video game market is made up of HARDCORE gamers.  The people who wait out in the cold or stay up all night or buy the newest video card and skipping lunch all week.  Basic economy labels this as inelastic buyers.  Those who would pay pretty much anything for a product.

Too bad for Sony, the video game market is elastic.  The lower-end PS3 is twice as much as a Wii.  What are parents going to buy their kids?  The Wii.

Understand why the PS3 is so expensive, it's the BluRay drive.  I don't know many "normal people" who have even heard of BluRay or HD-DVD, let alone know what it is.  If I want a PS3 but have no use for a BluRay player, I'm still forced to pay for it.  Sony deserved what they are getting.  They got too cocky and thought they could force BluRay and the high-priced PS3.

Xbox 360 + Wii
Just picked up an Xbox 360 for the selection of games and price versus the PS3. The Wii has great fun factor and it'll keep my girlfriend happy. biggrin.gif

"supergrafx" loves the PS3. He would burn the 360 and hates on the Wii. Seems to me he would hump his dog if it were wearing enough make-up. Name says it all.  happy.gif

XBOX 360 + Wii!!
First off, I've read numerous comparisons of games, such as COD 3, Fight Nights 3 and it doesn't surprise me that the reviews (Gamepro) state that the grpahics in the XBOX360 are slightly better...noticeable too.. some details.PS3 is overrated...all this big mean machine and it's being crappy right now. Xbox has delivered numerous fun games, including Gears of War. That game is insane.

The Wii in the other part has intuition to it. The remote is simply amazing...some games are not meant to be played on the Wii such as COD3 cuz it's hard but some others are very simple yet very fun such as the Wii sports. Game cracks me up.

So in conclusion. PS3 sucks for now. Price won't drop till next year since a price cut soon would hurt them since it was expensive to build that big piece of metal. LOL

-"But it's got the numchuck controller..."  and that's all it will ever have.  I think nintendo is going in a half good and half bad direction.

My thoughts exactly on the Wii and it's controller.
And I think Nintendo may be leaning too much to the half bad part of the Wii controls. I think they'll always work well with their first party games, but third party developers may have a harder time coming to a standard way for controlling their games. Little FPS and driving control discrepancies between games may frustrate the users.
If I was Nintendo I would be working VERY closely with third parties to ensure controls were as even and standard as possible for games doing the same basic things.

I'll take the Wii60 combo.

The 360 & PS3 are generally the same "type" of machines (high powered graphical powerhouses), so I'd take the one that's $200 cheaper, has a larger library, and more "exploitable", the 360.

The Wii is a different animal altogether. A new way to play, at an attractive price point.

I'm a fan of the wii + 360 combo.  I don't see myself buying a ps3 anytime soon.
