Have You Modified Your Xbox 360's Dvd Firmware?

well I guess we are all full of sh*t then arnt we, lol. Its all gonna happen no matter what anyways. Young people these days are really really smart and im sure they ll get what they want and theyll mod there xbox no matter what you tell them. Is it any of our business if its modded and you call it pirating, no. Im sure you all go over the speed limit, talk on your cell while driving, and who knows, maybe youve downloaded or burned a CD or DVD you arnt supposed to. Who cares. Maybe I want to backup my harddrive so I can get some games from hollywood video and save them to my hard drive and never have to rent again. LOL my bad... Its my xbox and ill do what I want.

All right let me do a small breakdown of what i think of the firmware dvd hacks etc etc.

First off id like to thank all the teams that managed to get it to run copied disks but not homebrew software. Thankyou im sure the 8% percent of the people who picked yes will actually backup a disc or two. Im rooting for microsoft becuase you have done nothing for the 360 thats right your basicly making it worse for 360 owners

why?

Well first off a gamer just bought a $400 dollar system and decides man im a cheapass i think ill download my games after buying a $400 dollar system becuase im poor. So what happens in return microsoft says hey looks like these pirtating assholes dont support developers, creators, companies etc instead of paying a meager $60 or buying the game used for even less they download it off the net. So microsoft intern says well arent they thankfull bastards. I think well make the console twice as hard to use these gay firmware hacks. So next month they say well where starting to loose profit so lets jack up Xboxlive,360's,Controllers,games,accesories to compensate for the lost revenue in tern you wonder when a pirated controller will be availible.

I will admit ive pirated a game or two on Xbox 1. But it might not even count becuase i copied them to an extra xbox thats right i actually own the game. Lets see on the first xbox most developers have already made there profit off the console pirating for a abandoned consoles doesnt make a real difference anyways.

Has anyone noticed a trend. A good nextgen system comes out and a bunch of pricks decide they want to be assholes and pirate games. Sounds a little like the Dreamcast right? well we all know how that turned out all the people who loved the console and bought games got fucked over becuase some people stole homebrew code and made it run pirated disks. and eventually Sega decided to shelf it

I think i may sound a little pissed but thats very obvious. There has been No Real Attempt at homebrew only pirating thats what most coders probally had in mind from day one now lets see well whos responsible well obviously the games yes but the coders are just as responsible. You know what if i could code i would release a version that bricked your dvd drive so what happens you send it to microsoft laughs at you and gives you a one fingered salute along with banning your xbox live account lesson learned pirating is bad.

I think that about sums it up i could really care less if your against any of this becuase i probally wont look at this thread again anyways. If you support me or something or have a REASONABLE counterargument send me a pm i would love to chat with you about this BS

I think it's a great idea, but i'm going to wait a while and see where things go with this firmware hacking before I decide to do it myself - plus I don't have a DL-DVD burner...

Oh yeah and the next person to spell "lose" as "loose" gets a kick in the teeth. There's only one "o" in the word, god dammit!

totally worth

That is how I feel, it is just for pirates now, no homebrew software is out yet.  Now if there was a XBMC for the 360 then I might consider it, cause that WMCE thing is totally stupid and has too many bugs in it.

I have a job. I spend my money on hardware, not software, which explains how I have a shiny new pc and hdtv sitting in front of me. Suck it.

"You homebrew junkies are no better than the "backup" monkeys you look down upon. 9 out of 10 want homebrew for a media center application and the emulators. Unlicensed codecs used to watch pirated TV/Music/Movies."

I've seen some hypocrites in my life, but this is a very good example.

It's not up to you people whether M$ gets more money or not. Why don't you pay for the game? Ligit backups, ok, not too bad but to pirate is just wrong.

I think the modding community has stoped for the xbox 360 now. Before the first hack was to run unsigned code that opened up a wave of homebrew development, to copy games was just an extra. Now the DVD firmware has been made to allow copied games I don't think people are going to develope security work arounds.

I don't think the xbox 360 will ever be unlocked now.

I Haven't used XBOX Live since i was a beta tester back in the day (before Halo).  Now i use XBMC and Xlink and play for free.  So XB-live isnt an issue for me.  for me its about the Apps!  XBMC is so freaking cool. I cant tell you how much i love ver. 1.0 with usb drive support!
Anyway.... when the 360 can run homebrew.... ill be buying 2!

I personally do not believe that all the people have been voting correctly for this pole 37.69% (Currently) for yes just seems very unlikely.

Until the 360 is able to run un-signed code than gets to the point of development where XBMC is ported and working on it with all the cool apps my Xbox can there is really no reason for me to be interested in even modding it at all!
