Not out in Scotland yet so I dont have one but I played the one in my local Game shop the other day and was very impressed!

. Although no where near impressed enough to part with £280 of my hard earned moola

. I'm going to stick with my modded Xbox original for now untill the price of the 360 falls. Also want to wait and see what the PS3 is like first. Im in no hurry and all this talk of faulty boxs is putting me off a little bit.

I hope its going to be possible to mod the 360 in future!. Although it does sound like its got some heavy duty security that wont just be over come with a simple chip/exploit mod like on the original. Still, I live in hope, Its very early days yet!.

I noticed the 20% number as well and thought that it was high, but I think the number of successfully working systems is below the real number. People that have systems that work are busy playing them, not going to sites to post counterpost poll votes. People with busted systems have the anger and the time to seek out polls and message boards to complain.

i wish i could say but i cant since my thing got short shipped like millions of other ppl and i was fuming because i preordered it on the same day that u can preorder them so i was pretty pissed but now im thinkin its not such a bad thing with all these defective rumours ive been hearin lately

Im just thinking, alot of this first batch of xboxs is still to be tested/used since alot of them (im guessing) are put aside as xmas presents by parents etc. I wonder if after xmas day we'll start hearing about a faulty xbox epidemic?. Just a though.

How are you guys surprised at something from MS being rushed to market, and coming out subpar? Think of the past jokes/analogies of MS software crashing--hell, they even have the BSOD in Halo 2 as a joke (zanzibar gate control screen). I say it's subpar in the xb360 having more than a couple isolated reports of crashing, and design defects. It's a great console no doubt, but I'm just not buying the hype of it at least until the price gets reasonable (yeah, I know they're taking a loss on it), and/or halo 3 comes out. I also feel for you guys who got broken 360's. I know Iwould be extremely pissed off if I waited in the bitter cold all night for a defective xb.

My xbox generally works fine when im offline..but it gives me freezing problems while playing online. Most common problem is it'll freeze constantly while playing

yeah, but i think the problems that have been around are eitehr software (will be fixed with an update), or heat (which anyone can do soemthing about).

ya know I was thinking tonight and I wonder if those with tech probs have the Premium pack (with hdd) or if people are having probs with both packs. I got a core pack & have play PDz for hours with no probs what so ever. just a thought.

i think it would be both packs, as teh hard drive would not make much heat at all. not enough to cause problems...

I've been xbox-scene for a couple years and this is my first pos.
A couple things that I noticed,

-my 360 exaust temp is around 50C or 122F.
-incense will show you that the 360 breathes deep from the ends.
-the psu case only has 44 1/8" holes, also in the ends to breath.
-the rubber feet are glued into the psu case screws. (on mine anyways)

I think a new poll('s) should ask the orientation as well as location.
It may be that alot of this negative hype is due to a small percentage of people with problems telling
the same story to different circles.
A buddy of mine and myself have left our 360's on since launch, on a well ventilated flat surface.
His is Horiz. and mine is Vert.
No crashes, No scratched discs, Just pure enjoyment.

Mine not only works great but so do the 4 my 4 friends picked up! We've been playing the heck out of them. My friend tom told me when I bought it to make sure not to set the psu on the its fan side, maybe that's what most of the problems are. (they should put a sticker on it [this side up]) I would also guess that the number of people with problems are smaller than 6% (where the poll is at time of posting) I mean people with out problems don't search out to see what's wrong with some thing working. I would guess it's around 2-4%

mine died with in the first 12 hours of owning it. I played it for an hour the night earlier. The next morning i booted and it work, but when i booted it 40 minutes later, it gave me E 74, and refuses to do anything.

Its in a well ventilated area and was horizontal. good old M$

Ive been everywhere and there are only few places saying there going to recieve more, and I am going on the assumption goto wal mart on tuesdays cause you might get there when the shipment does,also check online retailers some will be offering systems as soon as they some available.Me i just wait in disgust that i did not preorder thinking i could walk into wllaworld and get one with no wait guess again fucked and no 360 playing ut2k4 and hating life cause all my boys have one
