What Size Hdd Do You Recommend?

A 4gb average is probably a better bet, and some games can go a fair bit higher then that. 200gb will probably leave you wanting, as a drive's total capacity is usually referred to in "manufacturer's megabytes" - really you'll only have ~185gb worth of usable space, and about 8gb goes towards the X-Box's reserved partitions, so you'll really want something bigger.

Also remember that, if you've already got your fifty discs ready to load onto the system, the drive will be filled as soon as you're done backing them all up. Meaning that if you collect just a few more discs, you'll need to upgrade the HDD again.

And then there's the possibility that you'd want to load other media onto the drive, such as videos, images, music, emulators, etc...

In short, data is like a gas - it expands to fill the space available. Getting a bigger drive only delays this process somewhat. Personally I'm running a 750gb drive, it's full, and I'm considering a 2tb for the next step up.

If you plan on just using it for Xbox games, I'd say something around 300gb would suffice. However 500gb IDE hard drives are only like 70 bucks new. If you plan on using it for music and movies as well, go for the larger sizes. 50 games x 4 gb each is about 200 gigs, but that doesn't leave a lot of room for other stuff. I run a 250gb in my main box and have like 40 gigs left which is still plenty to work with. It helps if you don't copy ever single game you own. Leave out World Series Poker or Aggressive Inline and the like

Thanks for the replies. You're right, I probably wouldnt copy every game, more like 40 ish but I guess it is worthwhile allowing some extra space so it isnt full straight away like you've both said. I guess a 320gb or maybe even a 500gb would be a better bet then, thanks.
