ok i know ive asked a mod about this and got a not so nice answer back but i was just asking politelly, I was wondering how offen you guys get new moderators...lemme re-phrase that... hire more mods not replace cuz the mods are wicked already. I'm just interested in becoming a moderator, i have a lot of experience with xboxs and also modding a PHP forum. I was into yahoo and we used these kinds of forums. so please if an admin or head mod could just give me a nice reply that'd be great

Asking to be a mod... is not how you get to be one.
Being a generally helpful person around XS... not thread crapping, no signature violations, not participating in flame wars, reporting offending posts to moderators with the report system... is a good way.

But asking..... is not.  Not pointing fingers, but a lot of times those eager to be mods are eager to abuse priviledges if/when they get them.

I rarely take on new staff who ask.

I do however.. add staff from the members who are generally HELPFUL and COURTEOUS.  What I really don't want is people who want to be mods. What I do mwant is people who are here often.. help.. and I see something in them.. (or someone else on my trusted staff) see something in a member that makes them worthy.

It's a thankless job.

Participate. Follow the rules. don't shit in threads. don't add to flame wars. use better punctuation than I just did..

Eventually.. I, or some of the head mods will notice.. and when they do they'll request I add you.

DO NOT HARASS staff in order to get them on your side. If anything.. what you'll ususally get is them letting me know.. and I put a big X beside your name you can't see but I can.

Good news though.. I am looking for new mods. Lots of them.
