When To Say When.
« on: October 27, 2006, 06:22:00 PM »

I bought a modded xbox 360 from a reputable member here, but I have not received any shipping or tracking information since I sent the payment out.  At what point is a good idea to go to refund measures and more if need be?  I have looked in the persons profile and seen the times he has come online and I have counted from the time I sent the payment 5...1 out of those times I got a response.  I have been patient, but Im a grown man and dont like to play children games.  I want to hear what some of you have to say about it.  Thanks.

How Not To Get Scammed
The best way to ensure that you don't lose your hard earned money is a trade is to do some background research.
- Ask the person you are dealing for for forum references, and PM some of the people he may of dealt with.
- Ask for eBay feedback, and refs from BST-Secure or Heatware.
- Read the person's old posts. Click their username where they post, then when it brings up their profile, click "view all posts by this member.'
- Search for their name in the Buy & Sell section and see what comes up.
- DO NOT post a thread like "Has anyone ever dealt with xxxxxxxxxx". It will be closed immediatley.
Remember, Xbox-Scene is not responsible for the trading that goes on here. You trade at your OWN RISK, and it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that you are trading with a trustworthy person.

GOT RIPPED OFF/SCAMMED?
X-S is not going to mediate transaction disputes. Someone gets ripped off.. too bad. We have no idea who ripped who off. Xbox-Scene does not claim responsibility for what goes on in Buy, Sell & Trade nor will we police it. Do NOT post threads like "******** is a scammer / I got ripped by *******" as they will be closed or moved to trash right away.

When you send your PMs, track them. If he's reading them, but not answering, get suspicious.

You can file a claim with PayPal now, and if the stuff arrives, you can cancel the claim.

X-S is not responsible for your trading actions in the BST.  All your transactions are at your own risk.    A user with 1000 posts is just as not trustworthy as a user who just joined.  They might display refs, but those could just be people they bought from.  Always look into a sale, especially if you are spending over $30.  Contact refrences and ask what kind of transaction they did.   Dont trust heatware, that can be easily made up.  Sometimes people might even claim an account is theirs.  Just be weary of who you deal with.  Please dont make threads like this again.  You are not allowed to make posts about being scammed here.  You will have to solve your own issues.  You can post in that users thread and warn people not to deal with him/her and put a line in your sig that scammer = .....  so don't make any more threads here about it, report it to paypal or take a nice drive to their house.  Always remember if its to good to be true, then it prob is.
