check the bottom of the power supply for any cracks in the solder, especially at the plug connector. The noise is probably due to a poor solder connection. If there are cracks I would advise not turning on the xbox until you have repaired the solder as you can blow the power supply or worse, start a fire. It's best if you replace the power supply.

I soldered what i thought looked like cracks now the xbox wont turn on at all sad.gif

You may have bridged a connection and/or fried the power supply. Try removing the solder you put on and see if it will boot. Be ready to unplug the console and a fire extinguisher would be handy to have.
