I'd just to like to say what a useful resource this forum has been great tutorials, and advice, as you can see I am a complete newbie, 1st post. ( I havent really had to post yet, the majority if not all install issues are already covered in the forums).
Succesfully modded my crystal xbox v1.6 last night with a xecuter 2.6 CE, pinheader install and LPC rebuild pcb, flashed with Flashbios 3.01(bank1) and Evox M8 Bios(bank2). I dont have any backup media to test yet but the evox logo shows on boot from bank2 so I assume all is in order.
Quite surprised it worked 1st time, I have soldered before but not on points this small, used a 15w antex iron, with a 1mm tip. Could have sworn 2 points on the LPC rebuild didnt look soldered right, it works though so they must be OK.
Next step to install a 120 Gb drive I have lying around and test out some replacement dashboards and XBMC.
