Suggestion For Opening Halo Mods Forum
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:53:00 AM »

I think we may be able to open up the Halo hacking forum again if we follow the guidelines posted by another great site: Halomods.com:

Halomods.com Rules

QUOTE(Halomods.com)
No, and I mean NO leaked maps, if you post a leaked map, you will be BANNED on site! Enough said.

No leaked videos of any leaked maps

No posting warez or cracks of any kind*

NO HACKS FOR HALO MULTIPLAYER CLIENT SIDE (Wireframe, debug camera) , also, no searching or asking for client side hacks(strike 1+ offence)

HaloMods will NOT allow any kind of cheats that may be used over xbox live. This is a bannable offence!

Fields marked with * are already in use here.

On Halomods.com, they utilise the .ppf format and .serenity format to host their files and there should be some sticky programs (ppf-o-matic and serenity v2 with tf6 recrypter are particulary useful), then we would still be legal as a whole!

This is only a suggestion, but it will allow us to utilise the Halo hacking forum once again!

Edit: HaloMod's Policy towards Halo 2 ripping:
No ripped bsp's put into HaloCE maps
No models or tags of anything ripped from Halo2
No linking to Halo2 ripped content(Like Haloce maps, models, ect.)
No mods of Halo2 ripped weapons
No ripped Bitmaps from Halo2
No ripped sounds from Halo2

All this was accepted before and still abused.
Its alright having rules but fact is people do not read them/ choose to ignore/do not care if they break them.

Suggestion For Opening Halo Mods Forum
« Reply #2 on: November 11, 2005, 06:16:00 AM »

first.. this isn't HALOMODS.

Second.. the mods are only a small part of the reason the forum was taken down.

People decided that it was far more important to Pirate Halo than to have real discussions. So much so that the pirates over-ran the moderators.. at times.. 8 mods or more would be closing, moving, and locking topics and banning people.

the abuse was too much.

Do not bring the topic of opening that forum back up. We'll open it when we are ready and not before.

It's not a topic for discussion on this site until then.
