Switching Dvd Drives

Hi, I have a modded Xbox.
my DVD drive (Thompson) broke and a friend (who's Xbox isn't hacked) has offered me her DVD Drive.
So, is it possible to simply take out my DVD drive and put in hers?

Original Xbox DVD drives are fully interchangeable, regardless of whether your system is modified or not.
