Hdd Help!
« on: April 12, 2010, 06:37:00 PM »

There's not much you could be doing wrong, unless the console is in an environment where it gets shaken often while in use (eg, in a car or something). It may be you've just had a run of bad luck.

There's a chance that the console's PSU is at fault. If it's not providing enough power to the drive, it'll act much the same (right down to the click of death). To test this, unplug the HDD from the console's PSU then hook it up to a PC's supply. Start the PC then the X-Box, and see if it still acts the same way.

If you do as bomb says and the hdd works then you will need a new psu. It could also be sending to much power to the hdd and killing it.

Do you still have the original hdd and does that one work fine? If it does then most likely its just the psu isnt supplying enough power to the larger hdds
