Help Wireless Adapter Softmod Xbox

First off all you need to make sure that the wireless gaming adapter is working properly.
The easiest way to test this is connecting it to a pc. The moment you can surf the internet with that pc, you know everything is set up correctly.

The settings dhcp - static on the wireless gaming adapter are only for the gaming adapter web interface. They have nothing to do with the pc or xbox you connect to it. So, basically, you will need different ip adresses:

As an example:

192.168.1.1 for your wireless router.
192.168.1.10 for your pc
192.168.1.11 for your xbox
192.168.1.2 for your wireless gaming adapter.

The gateway setting will also be 192.168.1.1 The dns servers are those of your provider.
You can find them on one of your router webpages.

So, http://192.168.1.1 accesses your router setup pages and http://192.168.1.2 accesses your wireless gaming adapter web pages.

If you have your pc connected to the wireless gaming adapter, you should be able to ping the router from that. It proves that everything works fine.

You will need to edit the evox configuration file to change the evox ip settings. The unleashx dashboard is a bit easier to configure.

regards.

Yah I can get it to work with my desktop, just not the xbox.  I have tried static and dhcp addresses in the evo x menu and xbmc.  Can I get this thing to work with any kind of wep or wpa?  Really don't want to run my stuff without it.  So you are saying set the game adapter to a static ip and set evo x and xbmc to dhcp?  I have tried that before with going into the setup of the adapter and giving it a static ip.  Have spent way to many hours trying to get this to work.

Set it up for your desktop. A static ip for the wireless gaming adapter is the best solution as you need that adress to acces the adapter setup webpage. Set wathever encryption you like. You need the same encryption on your router to which the wireless gaming adapter connects. Make sure you can ping your router ip from your desktop when it is connected to the wireless gaming adapter. If everything is working fine, and you can even browse the internet trough that wireless gaming adapter, use the cable from your router to your pc and connect it to the xbox. Set your evox and xbmc to a static ip as well. Again, you will need that number to ftp to your xbox. Try to ping the xbox ip and see if it works. Make sure the first three numbers of the xbox ip are the same as those of your pc ip, router ip and wga ip. Chech the 2 little leds surrounding the network connector on the back of the xbox. One should go on when you plug the cable in. (if the other end is connected to the router.) If things work that way, it should work as well with the wga connected to the xbox.

The fact you can see the wireless gaming adapter webpage doesn't prove everything is working fine. You really need to be able to ping your router or see your routers webpage when only connected to the wireless gaming adapter.

I can browse with it hooked to my desktop.  I understand setting it as static, but as for the xbox, should it be set as the same ip as the adapter?  I know that evo x and xbmc should have the same ip.  Just want to be able to media stream with it.  When it is hardlined I can connect to my workgroup just fine, but can't find the network if it wireless.
