The connector below the AVIP looks like digital optical audio, and a count of the connectors (3 component, 1 composite, 2 audio, 1 S-Video, plus one spare) would tend to confirm that. No idea about the quality (I use these cables, which are excellent but need a separate optical patch lead), but Joytech controllers are very good so I'd expect their cables to be the same.

thanks. i hate how flimsy and thin some of the cables look towards the end (like the one you showed me and possibly the one i linked to). i dont think it compromises quality of AV but just seems like cheap construction and will break easier.

this one seems like better construction but no optical (plus its cheap!).

No, and no! They aren't "cheap construction", they are designed to get the balance right between sensible price and rabid over-engineering. Signal cables aren't designed to take any mechanical strain other than their own weight and a small amount of additional strain while they are being plugged in or unplugged - the ones I linked to will only break if you misuse them, and I'm sure the Joytech ones are the same. Of course, if you unplug them by pulling the cables instead of holding the connectors then you should expect them to break..... smile.gif

Steveo1978 is right - the alternative you linked to is an Xbox 360 cable, so is no good to you.
