Hi i have 3 good xboxes ranging from 1.0 to 1.4 i think .. and i have a spare motherboard that is 1.6 version.
What is the best way to remove the memory rams from 1.6  so i can install them on one of good xboxes.

regards

According to this tutorial:
http://www.dynatron.org/howto/XBOX/hackit/.../RAM/index.html

You will need an "Xbox motherboard with samsung memory (version 1.0 or 1.1)"

Of course I have yet to successfully do this myself so I'm just passing along the information without knowing for sure myself...

thanks for those clips.. yep i already seen them on youtube. but i dont trust that idea cos it looks like it will damage the chip..

I have seen another clip about special stuff that you smear on solder bit that make it molten longer than usual. quicker way to remove the chip...... so i might give this way a ago

cheers

PS  how does Trusty do it????

chipquik work like magic, i saw i video about it on you tube bought some and it is the best stuff i have found. Kinda expensive around $20  or so for just a little pachage but it will do all the chips and have a little left over for if you mess up.

To my understanding, RAM from any pre-1.6 console will work with any upgradable system.

Use a heatgun 2 remove the chip it will save you hell lot of times! i have done this more than 10 all of them is work never got any problem. Make sure you have some flux in your hand(use LIQUID flux best) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
