Problems With Sata Hdd

lol your a genius and im an idiot. yea it was just the slash marks were backwards. works great now! got it all working and formatted right. thanks all you guys for your help! big time.

last question though. after getting the ini in there there is a bit of a pause between when it says "xecuter2 config live loading..." (first screen) and the xbox stat up animation. is that supposed to happen? is there a way to get rid of the  "xecuter2 config live loading..."? i heard it should load faster now.

It'll probably load slower, if anything, since it now has to read & interpret that INI file first.

But for what it's worth, I use these startup-related INI settings:

doStartupAnimation = 1
displayTmLogo = 0
fastAni = 1
noSound = 1
showMsEn = 0

Basically makes things a lot more presentable.

wasnt sure where to post this so i guess ill post it in my exsisting tread

so i got it all to work. problem is every few reboots the f and g partitions seem to not exsist. as well as other problems.

a simple reboot fixes this but for instance i start it up and xbmc cant find my videos (on g partition). i try to ftp and the f and g just arnt there. i reboot and all is well.

sometimes i turn on the xbox and it boots to unleashx instead of xbmc. (again using x2 5035 with settings stated above). and sometimes it will boot to ms dash. skipping both xbmc and unleashx. and again i reboot the xbox and all is well. (boots to xbmc).

so whats so unstable? my bios? my settings? my hd? because it was soft modded to begin with?

again. its a v1.0 tsop with x2 5035, sata/ide converter 1.5 tb hdd built with xboxhdm (originally soft modded).

Something is preventing the console from reading the HDD on occasion. Odds are in favour it's a problem with the SATA adapter (make sure it's not getting any pressure on it from eg the top of the console's case), though it's possible the HDD really is at fault.

it was the pressure from the top of the case. i take it off and all is well.

i thought it was the top of the case bending the sata/ide adapter in so the solders were shorting out on the metal of the hdd itself. so i placed a cut up bussness card inbetween the two, but that didnt do it.

i wonder if it's the ide cable being bent too much? because of the way the adapter is the cable needed another awkward bend in it then smashed down by the case top.

or simply the adapter is being bent at where it attaches to the hard drive?

i got to go to work now but later ill see what i can do. any suggestions?

THANKS!
