It's saying that if your TSOP can only hold 256kb worth of data, then you can't flash that BIOS to it (due to it being twice the size).

You have a 1.0 console, which has a TSOP with a 1mb capacity (as do 1.1 consoles - all the others have a 256kb one, with the exception of the 1.6's, which can't be flashed at all).

The size of your TSOP is not something a softmod can alter.  wink.gif

My favourite BIOS is indeed the 5035, though I hear IND is pretty good as well. Haven't personally used IND though.

None that haven't already been covered in this thread.

The only really important thing is to make sure you don't try to flash the 1.6 version of the BIOS.

Then the screen just goes black! sad.gif

the light is still green. i cant ftp to it. and this is with the original hard drive softmodded with Krayzie_SC-NTSC_Ndure_Installer_v1.1 and unleashx as the default dash.

i followed your steps run:

Just solder those points is all there is to it.

Flashbios is an app in certain flavors of evox

Install app then dl the bios from the usual places drop them in the bios folder of evox.

load up the app pick the bios and push the button.

i pretty sure im screwed here. what did i do wrong?

Ok so there might be hope yet. i plugged in my new hard drive (the 1.5 tb) one with my new sata/ide converter from DX (which works btw smile.gif )and it will load games and goes to the default ms dash without games in the dvd drive.

the new hdd went to the ms dash b4 i flashed the bios btw. so it isn't acting any different

im guessing this has to do with clock issue as waal had recently.

my question at this point is do i just reinstall the soft mod to the new hard drive using Krayzie_SC-NTSC_Ndure_Installer_v1.1 via game save exploit? if so which options would i choose.

such as do i use the basic or minimal install since the bios is different? would if matter if i install evox or unleashx?

or should i change the time in ms dash? i figure i could really get into trouble then if i did that.

Previously, you said it went to an error screen. At what point did that change?

Nope, dunno about waal's situation, but the clock should only affect certain old softmods. More likely it's just having trouble finding a dash to boot, which can be fixed via "x2config.ini" (the one Run was talking about back here). If you leave it on that blank screen long enough (eg 20mins), it'll probably boot to an error code 13, I'd guess.

No, you're hardmodded now - the gamesave exploit likely won't even boot, and even if it does, the softmod isn't much use to you. Just pointing "x2config.ini" at your desired dashboard (probably stored at something like "e:\dashboard\default.xbe") should do the job.

Certainly doesn't hurt to have the console know the right time. Some games (eg GTA) tend to crash if it's too far out of whack.

how can i change this? if the xbox boots to ms dash then how can i ftp into it? without loading the game save exploit. do you think it will hurt if i try?

perhaps putting it through xboxhdm again would help?

The reason your xbox boots to a black screen is because your softmod was designed to exploit the retail kernel. Since you no longer have that on the tsop, your softmod is being "confused". This is also the reason a gamesave exploit will not help you.. They are designed to EXPLOIT the retail kernel which you no longer have.

What you need to do here is burn a dvd of the evolution X dash and then boot to that DVD on your xbox. This will give you FTP access.

NOTE: Be sure to setup your evox .ini file with correct network settings for your network setup before you burn the DVD so you actually have FTP access.

EDIT: Also, you no longer need xboxhdm. Your xbox it hard modded now. So, connect your new hd to your computer and use xplorer360 to wipe the c:/ drive and then just copy a retail set of C drive files to it, and then whatever dash you want to use.

DONE

ok got it. i have a dvd or evox running with the new 1.5 tb hdd and can ftp into the xbox. thanks!

but now what exactly? must i use explorer360 and my pc?

or can i just ftp the files over?

can i just create a new short cut for a dash and leave everything else the same? (remember this one was created using xboxhdm)

also where do i put the x2config.ini? c root?

The INI file goes on the root of the E partition.

Xplorer360 can be used to have your PC read/write to the drive, but it's probably easier for you to do so through FTP instead of opening up your console/computer again to switch drives...

You'd also need to deal with the drive lock again.

If you have a dashboard shortcut file in place, there's no need to mess with it - just point the "x2config.ini" file at the one you already have, stick it on the root of E, and reboot the console without a disc in the drive.

Now that I read my above post, I guess it was kinda confusing. (drank too much monster)

Yea forget about the xplorer360 bit. You don't need that if you have FTP access via boot disc.

-Apologies-   biggrin.gif

EDIT: IMO, iND bios should only be used if the TSOP is too small to hold X2 5035.

ok thanks.

so heres what i did. i changed the x2config.ini to say this:

; 255 characters max here, format is <drive>:<path_to_xbe>.xbe, e.g. "f:dashes\avalaunch.xbe"
dash1Name = e:Apps/XBMC/default.xbe
dash2Name = c:evoxdash.xbe
dash3Name = c:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = c:avalaunch.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe

I put it in my root e folder and installed xbmc to e/Apps/XBMC.

but with no success. the xbox still loads to the ms dash.

im guessing from what you said before i need to get a hold of the original C files. full on stock C files and totally delete what c files i have now and transfer the stock C files? then all this should work?

what category would that be in? im checkin in the usual places but cant find stock c files. (if this is too much to ask or its against the rules then just ignore it sorry)

You don't need the stock C files (it won't fix your problem), but you can get them from Slayers or CASH or AID.

Try changing the slashes in the dash name i.e.

dash1Name = e:Apps\XBMC\default.xbe

Also, try putting x2config.ini in C:\ as well as E:\
