Actually, while I think it would kind of suck for honest newbies, there probably should be a 25 or 50 post minimum for qualifying for the contest, just to whittle down the number of "cheaters" - of course, that would only apply to users who registered after the original contest thread posting.

It's sad that some people will do these sorts of things (register multiple times) to ruin it for others.

Now that it's a news item on the main page, it's only going to get worse.

A 50 posts minimum would be a good deal ...
Don't you think 400 is a lot 4 most people ...

Don't know if you could find 23 members with more then 400 posts
You could find 23 people with 50 posts or more ... ( like me  biggrin.gif  )

If you would give away free stuff then do it to the members of the Xbox-Scene, people who posts solutions or are active members on the forum. It's xbox-scene not xbox-leechers.

I was a newbie to 2 months ago, doing some reading, some more reading, tutorials, fa'q's, mIRC, newsgroups. Got the files, got the hardware, got the skillz and now very happy with my xbox.

So now I see it as my duty to help other newbies on the forum who have the same questions as i had 2 months ago.
That's what a "scene" is al about

I'd be fine with 1 post newbies.... as long as they joined the forum before November 22.

If they joined afterward, they should have a track record of at least 20 or so (non-junk) posts.

That would be fair, I think.

                                    ye.

I am a n00b but if you read my posts i have contributed and created topics.

I think that the date and after-date + 20 posts sounds better and IP to be more certian.

yeah I have been following the scene since it started but why should I be considered a noob just because I dont have a lot of post.

That's why I qualified the post minimum to those who joined on or after November 22, when the contest was first posted.

You'd be fine. I don't think lurkers should be punished because some people are taking advantage of the contest by registering aliases.
