what ever no jumper is is what you need to do. master makes scene. i just forgot to take the jumper off on one i just installed 3 days ago and it just held on "loading x2 config" (i use x2 5035 tsop bios). took off the jumper and it worked fine.

has this HDD been known to work at all? im guessing that might be the problem. even if its brand new. like i said i just had a faulty drive as well. it was brand new. seemed to power on. everything. got a new one of the same drive and it works great.

I agree with dballs442 - i think the HDD is the culprit here.
I cant believe you still have not got this going. bad luck there!
from what I recall, you have never actually got this HDD going? I use the same DX adaptor here on a 256gb SATA HDD. it works flawlessly.

haha i know shame on me.. first i just got the xbox hard modded, and i didnt even actually get a hdd until about 1 month ago, and that was when i finally found a place to buy that adapter from in this country.. i went to silicon valley here in taipei, and no one sold that brand. i bought many different adapters, and nothing worked. so then thats when i finally mailed off for it from a online auction site here locally.. which in of itself was not an easy task since i cant read chinese... so when the next ones get here i will try one out, and if still nothing i will go with getting a new hdd (same brand and model) see if that works, and either way i will take the new one back if it doesnt or if it does will put the old (new one) in its place.. but its hard to see how both of these hdd fail to work.. guess stranger things have happened

omfg ! i just got the new adapters in the mail and ching ! it worked. i mean i got 3 last time.. one yes i did maybe mess my but the other 2 must of been defective.. thing booted right up the 1st try this go around.. what a HUGE relief !! i thought i had some crazy jinx or something.. so i will follow the guidelines suggested on page 1 as far as the partitioning goes with xbox partitioner 1.0 and 1.1.. feel like a kid in the candy store right now, i got sooo much backed up stuff i will fill this sucker up fast, but its no biggie.. i might even get a 2nd 2TB just for all the other things this wont be able to fit..  since i travel around alot i cant be taking 100s of dvds around with me, so this really puts me at ease cool.gif

hmm ok, some trouble with xbpartition.. i did the uneven split, with 1.0 in 32 kb clusters. but every time i reboot it goes back same split it was.

then if I try to load 1.1 its stuck, and i cant even do anything.. kind of weird.. is there something im not understanding here? buttons work, because i can do the reset, but i cant select anything...
