To be clear on this, the console displays the large XBOX logo on the screen, then powers itself down?

The T3CH logo will only appear if the console is actually starting one of T3CH's XBMC distributions. But as to why the system would then turn off I have no idea.

XBMC has a special recovery mode that's triggered by holding white + Y as it starts. This grants FTP access, so perhaps you could use that to take a hunt around the drive, perhaps try installing a fresh setup.

Error 07 means the attached drive is either incorrectly attached, or just plain busted.

Since the system is shutting down when booted from disc as well, I'd say the issue has nothing to do with the HDD at all. More likely the system is overheating (or at least thinks it is), or there's some issue with the traces that deal with the power on/off switch.

Does the system power itself off if left sitting on the error 13/07 screens?

If your HDD is in fact the problem (and from your description, it sounds like its at the end of its life), then another hard drive is the way to go. Get rid of it and get your new one ready. Because your new HDD is from another xbox it will be locked to the Xbox it came from so you need to unlock it first. Get the eeprom from the source xbox then unlock it (use XBHDM2). Once its unlocked, your main hacked xbox should then boot the M$ dash I believe. You can either use a softmod to gain FTP access then move around XBMC from your computer to the 8gb drive to wherever your modchip looks for a dash or inject XBMC into XBHDM2 and have it copy XBMC to your 8gb drive right after you unlock it. (you won't need to relock it unless you plan on going on XBLive)
or use a boot disk once you have the new HDD installed. Slayer's boot disk is a common one.

happy modding
