I recently purchased an original 60gb cecha01 ps3 with a faulty Blue ray drive. The disc just dont spin. I was going to install a new blue ray drive, but as soon as I got the system apart I noticed that some one has taken the control board off of the dvd drive before and broken the clip that holds the two small black and red wires on the control board.  They then attempted to solder the two wires directly to the board.  It is my understanding that these wires only effect the optical sensor that tells the blue ray when a disc is being inserted.  I do not think the optical sensor is working.  I am hoping to replace the blue ray drive, keeping the old control board.  How important are the black and red wires/optical drive?  Any recommendations?
