I was given a PS3 slim to work on it will only sometimes load games. The disc goes in the system fine but sometimes makes a noise like it is trying to load it again or eject it. The drive revision is KEM-450AAA as marked on the bottom of the drive after removing the casing.  I understand that with the PS3 you have to get the same drive type and just replace the PCB. My question is how do i know which is the right one and can anyone point me in the direction of a place to purchase the proper drive. I have looked on ebay but the descriptions are not good enough to tell me what it really is. the model is a 120gb Slim.

Yep, similar to XBOX 360. The Drive Board is married to the Mainboard. The difference is the dics won't spin up if the laser is faulty unlike the 360.

I would start with the laser first.
