Cell Be ,full Power In The Future ?

Hi there
As i know the Cell contains eight cores ,six for games and apps ,one for the XMB and the system security ,and the eighth one is disabled . i wonder whether its software disabled so a future update can enable it smile.gif  ,or its hardware disabled and we will never benefit from it mad.gif  ?
