Games Play Fine Blu-ray Not So Much

I'm having a problem with my ps3.  Just bought this off a buddy for 150 and it plays games fine, but when I try to play a blu ray disc, the picture is all distorted.  anyone Have any ideas why or of any possible fixes.  Maybe like a heat gun fix on the hana chip on the xbox??

My Ps3 is now on ebay it fezzes all the time playing games and bluray. I am going to buy a BR player and be much happier.
