Hey my friend decided to upgrade the harddrive in his 60gb ps3. So we bought the following:

Seagate 750gb, 7200rpm, 32mb cache

Vantec Nexstar3 Harddrive case with USB 2.0 and eSATA

Xecuter HDXT PS3 Hard Drive Xtender

And a eSATA to SATA cable.

So we hooked it all up turned on the harddrive then the PS3. The ps3 says the drive must be formatted so we format it. Then when the sysetm restarts the harddrive is loading (lights flashing and you can hear it too) and on the tv all you see is the waving lines thing in the background but nothing else. We left it on that for about 20minutes and the screen saver will come on and nothing happens. The system just hangs everytime you turn it on and if you try to turn it off using the power button at the front you get the double beep and if you hold it long enough it will come off. Also when the system is hanging the controllers are unable to connect.

Any help anyone? Pretty much all the guides I looked at on the internet says it's very simple to do the harddrive upgrade yet I'm getting stuck at this one point.
