Can I Put A New 40gb Psu In My Old 60gb Ps3?

Hello!
   I was given an old 60GB PS3 that doesn't work, and I ripped it apart, and upon inspecting the PSU, it's got a big burn on it, sooo, I'm trying to replace it, and was wondering if I bought a PSU pulled from a newer PS3 if it would still work.
