It was straight forward for myself. I set up the router using my pc ages ago, and made sure all security was enabled. I brought my PS3 home a few days ago, and plugged it in, went through the settings, and clicked on the network settings, altered the connection to wireless, it found my router, i confirmed it, input my security key, and was online in minutes.

Sorry if this isn't much help, but as long as the router is set up, and you have input the correct security key i can't see any problem. Maybe you could use a wep key instead of the complex wpa, might be a little easier
