I guess this is just trying to compete with the 360's Elite. It's a shame there not sticking in a 120GB hard drive. MS can do it so why not Sony? I know there loosing a lot on manufacturing costs but who wants to spend a load more money for an extra 20GB space?

the same can be said for the 360. if sony can put in an HD optical drive, why can't MS? sure, 80GB seems weak compared to the current 60. but, sony will just scream bluray the whole way. also if they launch an 80 and put the 60 down to the 20's price point, effectively dropping the 20GB SKU, that is major muscle for them because now their cheap console, or the one that is $20 more than the elite doesn't look as bad. and once again they'll pull the bluray card smile.gif

Enjoy paying even more money for your PS3!

I like how everyone complains about how much the PS3 costs.
And how much have you spent on Modding your Xbox's?
Your Sig basically says it for you and the post says over $1,000.00 in modding.
There is no reason for you to complain about the cost of it, if you don't like don't buy it!
I have a 360 and PS3, granted the 360 is used more but I know that my PS3 will get its fair share of use as well. IMHO it plays movies better than the 360 and the graphics on the PS3 are better.
Since this is all about the Hard Drives basically at least Sony was nice enough to not use proprietary everything on the console. Just drop in your own hard drive, use your blue tooth headset, use a standard PC power cable, use a HDMI port on all versions of the console, use the classic PSX AV cables, use an optical port that is built right into the console, charge controllers right out of the box with a standard USB cable, I could go on and on but in the end the people that have a more complex brain than you realize that the 360 will cost you more in the end. Oh and Linux without voiding your warranty, or avoiding blowing an e-fuse.

If your going to nit pick, ps3 doesn't come with component cables. Hdmi is silly point, sony was originally not going to put it on the cheaper ps3 but they ended up putting it on. Xbox didn't have hdmi on any model and people want it so they gave it to them, its not like they are trying to force peoples hands to buy the more expensive one. Optical port built into the console? Oh noes its on the av cable, it makes so much of a difference, its actually better on the av cable because now I only unplug the av cables and power to move my console (I have a second set of cables) I dont have to unplug the optical because its on the av connection. Xbox controllers use standard AA's right out of the box, and the controller is actually nice. Sorry linux on the ps3 is gimped compared to linux on a normal pc and your choices are alot more limited, as to why you would want linux on the ps3, I dont know.  If I bought a ps3 I would have to spend thousands to enjoy HD (ps3 cost plus hd tv), Microsoft put out an vga cable for those who would like to play on a pc monitor, I dont see a ps3 vga cable. Making it vastly cheaper for most who dont have have an hd tv but a spare pc monitor to enjoy hd. Dvd quality is actually really good over vga because it scales it, they just need to add scaling to component cables it it will be fine. My 360 came with a free headset, if I bought a ps3 I would have to buy one. Standard pc cable? So? Its not like the 360 doesn't come with someway to get power to the console. People with a more complex brain will realize that you dont say "people with a more complex brain" when trying to get a point across.
