Wireless Connection Hassles
« on: November 26, 2006, 02:31:00 PM »

called sony tech today, what a mistake, they know nothing and told me it was my beloved linksys router and not there fault. Any one else having connection issues.

I turned off wep and turned off the mac address  filter, essentially wide open for anyone, and nothing, it says that it cannot connect so to security issues, so i tried connecting to my neighbours open router (thanks for a leeching) and nothing again, so i hard coded the ip and dns, nothing again. On friday the Wii connected in 2 minutes, and its still connected.... hmmm i wonder if havning them side by side is a issue? I'll remove the Wii and see what happens.....

Of course the best part was tying to update to the newest OS, lucky had my carmeras SD card and could transfer the update over, after that i had better success with the wired connection, but its still intermittent.

Unfortunately Sony doesn't have a hardware certification program, there isn't much out there to help you. The up side is that the online is free, so you should be good! smile.gif

the new 1.11 update fixed my connectivity issues, it now connects fine, i do see a few drops occasionally, but as long as it connects, its good to know that its running fine with no hardware issues.
