Xbox Boots But Sits / Hangs?
« on: February 23, 2009, 09:19:00 AM »

I've been workin on this Xbox for a week so far... Adding tons of content to it etc... Now there's like 100GB Free on this 400GB HDD that I used.... For some reason at boot the past couple times it has deleted the directory where all of the Dash Files reside at? Any idea why? Is there a certain total files limit implemented on the EvoX M8 BIOS? Or on the Xbox? I can pop in the Slayer's Disc and it'll boot up fine and show the contents on the hdd fine and let me ftp into there etc... But At boot it just hangs if no Disc is in... Any ideas what I can do to fix this?  I've got nothing in the C:/ Partion cept for the MS Dash files and 1 .xbe which is a shortcut pointing at F:/Dash/default.xbe  was XBMC in there but that keeps on getting deleted and lost at boot?

I'll bet you didn't format your F partition with XBPartitioner 1.1. If you don't format partitions >256GB with 32k clusters (and XBPartitioner 1.1 is the only program that can format with large clusters) then once the partition has more than 256GB of content it all goes horribly wrong, and files start disappearing - as you are seeing!

You need to reformat F with XBPartitioner 1.1.....

mmmm I formatted it using the Slayers Disc? Also flashed the box using the TSOP flasher off the disc as well.... I also even deleted a few games and still like this....  But I'll check out that App thanks for the reply! Not really wanting to reformat F:/ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  Already so much on there....

In the meantime, don't try to add anything more to the drive. Doing so will potentially cause yet more files to go bye-bye.

In fact, if you take a look around that partition, you'll probably find plenty of other things missing/corrupted aside from XBMC.
