So I've had this unlocked Western Digital WD2000, 200g hard drive in my xbox for a couple years. The other day I started getting a code 07 boot error. After some troubleshooting I formatted then Zero'd the entire drive on my PC, which sees the drive fine. Still no good. Here's the list of what I've done, nothing works so far....
-Installed a stock unlocked hard drive, boots fine.
-Swapped IDE cables
-Formatted to FAT32, then tried NTFS, then Zero'd drive
-ran WD diagnostics on the drive, passed all tests
-No matter what is in the DVD, I get a code 07 when trying the big drive
-Tried hotswapping from stock drive to big drive while booted into Slayers 2.7, never got passed 'Writing Config'
-Reflashed M8+ to the Chameleon 1.5 chip
-Drive works great in my external USB chassis on my PC
-Tried setting drive to Master, then slave, then back to Cable Select like its always been
-Checked and rewrote everything on the EEPROM
-Set the time/date on the xbox, then tried everything again
....
At this point I havent tried XboxHDM or using the big drive on another xbox. Makes me wonder if its even worth trying XboxHDM if the drive isnt recognized even in a hotswap.
I'm gonna grab my other xbox from the girly's house this weekend and see what happens.
Besides that, any other ideas?
