Xbox Sd-616 Replacement Drive
« on: January 05, 2009, 08:38:00 PM »

OK, I figured out what is causing the issue but I do not understand why it happens.  When I flip the tray motor in the reverse direction the xbox opens and closes the tray just fine (which is what is is supposed to do according to the tutorial) however it does not read and discs.  When I put the motor in the original position (turn it back and re-solder) it can read discs but the tray does not open and close.  Any ideas?

Thanks again.

It seems that when I flipped the motor the CD spins in the opposite direction which explains why it cannot read anything...  Why would flipping the tray motor cause this in some SD-616 drives?  I would think there would be others with the same problem.  Maybe there is some sort of differences between the SD-616F version of drives out there??
