Ps3 Slim On/off Switch Added
« on: September 12, 2010, 09:02:00 AM »

I don't know about some of you but I got tired of plugging and unplugging my ps3 Slim. So I hard wired a 120v rocker switch from Radio Shack. I personally love it. I know some people might think its lazy of me but its a quick flip off and on. My Ps3 is also on a Media Shelf and its very difficult for me to reach back and un-plug and re-plug it everytime.

ON (green light on switch) ... although it doesn't show that well in the photo

OFF (red light on switch)

Why didn't you just put a switch on the wire itself like on a lamp?

Would have been so much easier.

this might have taken me 10 minutes too install a switch, but... I was given the switch so no cost to me and in the end it will be much easier. I cannot get to where my ps3 is plugged into the power easy.

Also... sometimes I wonder why people asking about why people mod their systems on these forums. Sometimes we do these things because we enjoy doing it.

Over all i think it has a clean look to it and it works really well.

I definitely agree.  There aren't many electronics that I enjoy using that I haven't modded in some way.

I have the PS3 hooked to it's own power bar I had lying around the house. I just flip that switch and still have my warranty and cost me around $2 if I remember when I bought it. Just my two cents.

This would be ideal, but breathofice said that he can't get to where the power's plugged in easily.

I want a bigger HDD myself and could care less about my warranty if it will get me a bigger HDD as I hate using an external for my PSGroove.
