i flashed one of my usb spi's (pic18f2455, 12mhz) and if i do the boot procedure outlined in the first post (power off by switch, power on and hit eject within a second) it gives me a green light, the fans turn on about %75 of the time but hdmi output stays black w/o audio (i dont have any other av cables), ive tried on 2 consoles (2.34 and 3.01).

Does anybody know if there is a backup manager that doesnt need a disk to load, yet?

Sorry all this is still new and I am done scouring the forums for tonight

I got a board  with a PIC 18f 2550 but since it doesnt have a jumper I'm really having trouble getting it into bootoader mode. I have researched but I just get more confused. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be awesome.

People without jumpers need to connect pin17 to ground in order to program the pic through usb.

Yes it should be 12mhz, the xtal will have it written on it as well.

What I did is connect pin 17 to pin 19. I understant pin 17 should be bridged to ground, but which pin is ground?

The psgroopicv1.3 is released.

Have someone already compiled it for each resonator in the same way Illness have done with psgroopicv1.2 ?

Here's a high resolution photo of the board and the bridge I made, still not working though, it only appears as memory access under device manager.

There is cold solder joints everywhere on that board. You should tin both ends of that wire before soldering it to pins 17 and 19.

Looking at that flasher closeup ive seen better soldering on a breadboard laugh.gif .

I would have expected better from a etched design.

So the bridge is correct? pin 17 and 19 should be the bridged ones?

Also what do you mean by cold solder joints? The board seems awful indeed, I would have expected better quality for this 20 bucks board. Thanks for your response btw.

Cold solder joint is when you solder two points together but the connection is too weak for a signal to pass through.Think of it like a car not starting because the battery terminals are not tight enough, so you tighten them and your car starts.
What i suggest is get yourself some flux and put a tiny bit on each end of that wire, then melt some solder onto each end. Then touch each end to pins 17 and 19 and put some solder on your iron tip and touch the tip to the pins. You should get a good connection that way.Try not to touch the iron there for more then a second or two, or you risk damage to the chip.

And yes as far as i can tell those pins are correct.
