Well, all that can happen for now is this :
You take a plane to China
You ask around a PS3 that runs homebrew code (or something else)
You are shown a PS3 which is much more expensive than a regular PS3
and someone inserts into it something looking like a blank (beep) in it.
It starts and it's a (beep).
So you think it's a truely hacked PS3 and you pay a lot for it.
Once at home, you try (just to see) to insert the not so blank (beep),
on your other PS3 (a regular one)
and it also works...
That means the PS3 was a regular one, purchased at normal price and resold to you at much higher price.
All that because 1:1 presses exist in China. It's the result of money and bribery, not intelligence in hacking.
Until something more solid than just rumours pop up, just assume all what is said around hacked PS3's is just 1:1 pressing and very naughty scams. Or talk about 'hacked' presses then...
