Just A Little Help.
« on: March 20, 2007, 11:12:00 AM »

Hi all just looking for some info.
im a big believer in the choice of being able to backup a game you have baught to stop it being damaged and waisting your hard earned cash. this is one reason i love my xbox 360 my games are stored away and safe and the most i stand to loose if my little brother decides to play frisby on a hot day is £2 for a blank dvddl.
im looking into buying a ps3 now and have been going through all the news articles to see how things are moving with the scene.
i know that the games can be backed up on to a usb hard drive and that this is done with the instalation of a linux os but as blue ray discs are still hard to find and very expensive and im not even sure if you did have one that a backed up game would boot is it possible to launch these games from the hard drive they are backed up onto or is it still in the future for this kind of thing?
knowing this would really give weight to whatever decision i take on ,buy or not to buy.
sorry if this is a dumb question but i get a lot of help from the xbox-scene forum so i imagine this should be the same.
thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.

there is no public method of booting backups yet. There are rumors about a loader coming out, but nothing is published yet.
