Infectus Chip?
« on: March 20, 2007, 03:28:00 PM »

I didn't know where to post this, since it involves all the systems.  Some group called InFeCtuS is releasing a modchip that works on the PS2, PS3, Xbox360, and the Wii.   It's kinda big....but I guess it has to be to work on 4 different consoles.  http://www.infectus.biz/

Here's a list of what it does:

XBOX360 SUPPORT:

    * Allows to gain total access over the XBOX360 flash driver, so that you can read and write the internal flash of any X360 DVD READER in the market.
Everything can be managed with a very simple and user friendly PC software.
    * FLASH ID realtime patching, your xbox360 cannot understand if there is any flash running other than the original one.
    * GLOBE MODCHIP 360 100% emulation including ON / OFF LED
    * NME 1.2 firmware emulation (at work 80% finished). Allow you to install the chip with few wires like NME.

PS3 SUPPORT:

    * The first work to be done is to allow our users to flash directly the PS3 BIOS by USB. So no more problem with firmwares, you can install everything you want, when you want. All the complications due to firmware versions that cannot be downgraded will not bother you anymore.
This solution will be released in the next 4 weeks!
    * Another new feature that we want to add is a REAL TIME patching of the firmware part that you want to be emulated from the chip. Being the 512Kb flash not enough to store a real dual firmware, we'll have to wait for the first hacked firmware to understand if a "realtime" patching will be possible. In case we won't be able to find more ideas, a new version of Infectus with a memory expantion bay will be released.

PS2 SUPPORT:

    * Complete O2 MODCHIP emulation 100% with all functionalities (www.o2mod.com) - Included for FREE

WII SUPPORT:

Of course this is a free "bonus" in this mod because, we know, most of You wouldn't install such a big and expensive chip on a WII, but being it free... it's a good chance!

    * WIIKEY / WIIFREE EMULATION: (under developement - 80% ready). This feature will allow you to play just everything you want on your WII.

SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT:

The possibility to manage the features using an easy software is one of the BIG advantages of this modchip solution!

    * WIZARD help for the users: you will simply follow software's instruction step by step, everyone would be able to install and manage the INFECTUS MOD.
    * When you will be ready to install INFECTUS on a DVD DRIVE 078 XBOX360 FIRMWARE, the software will assist you with a 100% automated extraction of the key and the patch of new firmware.
    * WIZARD configuration based on XML for an automatical update of last firmwares.
    * X360 FIRMWARE checksum, the software will tell you if you are actually using the correct firmware (this feature is only available in WIZARD procedure)
    * HELP section to allow an easy searching of X360 firmwares

of course its possible.. but its just stupid? Why not make cheaper versions dedicated for each console instead of a universal one? You can't use it in two consoles anyway and I doubt that anyone is gonna be moving it between consoles...

Sure you could use it in more than one at once.  You could have the systems hooked up to it at once.  About a foot of wire coming out of each machine to the chip suspended in midair the centre.  You could put all the consoles in a circle, it'd look like a spider web.  Imagine how cool that would look.  You'd be the envy of all your friends. This is the best idea ever....

Guys...

is simple, INFECTUS is a modchip for X360, an evolution of GLOBE / DUAL FIRMWARE with the support of USB 2.0 connection...
Than do for FREE PS2, WII and PS3 (see after)

ADVANTAGE for X360 users?
Simple with an USB cable and a nice infectus program manager you can put in your xbox the firmware that you want and when you want. If someone want a MODCHIP now have two chance:

1- UNDERDOG, but performance of this mod cannot be never like a FIRMWARE mod (compatibility of supports etc)

2- DUAL FIRMWARES, for who want the advantage of FIRMWARE HACK but want to turn off modchip when go in live... infectus add the USB connection to allow easy and fast flash of firmware

Now anyone know what will be happen in the future about XLIVE BAN or new protections etc.. with this mod sure you will ready to fix all possibile problems in 2 minutes.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

PS3 support?
simple in few days you have a PROGRAMMER OF NAND FLASH FOR PS3, sure cheaper than all others programmer in the market... ready to be fit inside your PS3 and ready to manage DOWNGRADE, UPGRADE of firmwares... of course no one know if WHEN or IF will be avaiable a FIRMWARE HACK from paradox etc, but if there will be you have in your hand a solution READY.

So why a shop or webshop buy infectus?
to give a good solution for X360 now, and to be imediatly ready to offer something for PS3 if necessary!

Not so bad I think...

than other stuff?
O2 MOD, is interestant for who want the DNAS patch for online gaming on PS2... I think is the only one that do that...

WII, is a gift, I think noone will use it for WII, but is for free, is a gift and if you are in a island without other mods for wii you can use it  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  hahaha

Infectus, you said that it will be programmed through USB. I have been looking at pictures of the chip and I am wondering exactly where you plug the USB cable into?

Nothing there really looks like a USB port to me, although the gold plate on the bottom left could be used for something like that, you can't really tell from the pictures though.

And also, why does it say www.origa.com under the Infectus logo on the chip?
