Ferrox v1.0 in action for the PS3 - it is supposedly an ISO loader for Sony's next generation machine. The video suggests that this loader if released will work on ALL firmware versions thanks in due part to a vulnerability in the PS3's hyper visor.

The video is from Naoneo(thats what the username of youtube is). If it's the same Naoneo that I am thinking of then.. some people from the PSP scene would know him as Fluff and for making the infamous PSIX for PSP. I'm not sure if this is real or fake, since many groups have claimed they've made a Loader since Paradox. Lets just wait and see what comes of this!

And another thing before you say oh its just a 360 fanboy ripping on Sony, I will let you know that I despise M$ but I am forced to use it like 90% of the world. I have a PS360 combo and I only purchased the 360 because the PS3 wasn't out yet.

They would fake it because that just how low people are on the internet lol but as far as this iso loader goes I believe that it is real not because of the video just because of the reputation of the person behind the video.

1. Its a female

2. This same person has many scene releases etc.

3. Most fakes are from 16 yr old goth kids who are mad at the world because they get no attention so do things like make fake PS3 hacks lol.

Im looking forward to the Ferrox more then the Paradox because it suppose works on any and all firmwares where as the parad0x supposedly only work with the 1.32 firmware so you cant upgrade your ps3!!!

I've just seen the 2nd video
It's blur but I could compare with my PS3 menu bar to find out where the loader is launched

It's in settings => system settings => install other os

that launches the ferrox loader, then you choose application to launch in loader menu

It's a locked thread I've just found.
I think it gives all the true story of ferrox exploit. It makes a lots of sense.
(1 person found exploit behind the "install other os" command, 2 other guys joined in order to make something useful. These 2 jobless guys contacted sony, and managed to obtain new jobs. 1st person promised to not give out exploit to protect their new jobs. However that person released a few videos to give hints about exploit.)

is probably one of these videos. Because at the very end of it there is a reference to the reason why the guys lost their job and thus why they got interested in getting new ones.

The consequence is you really need firmware<1.54 if you want to get rid of hypervisor on ps3 whatever is your final purpose (mine is to access RSX, and I will stop searching if ps3 linux is officially allowed to access it). It's propable firmware 1.54 is the result of the sending of the exploit details to Sony.

It's possible EE chipset is needed. But it's not 100% sure.

That closes the case 'ferrox exploit'. Definitely.
