Seems like a real smart move for LG, hopefully they make a quality player.

Exactly why PS3 shouldnt have BluRay built in. I would much rather have a hybrid player than be stuck being redundant. This HD war is a joke. And we are the punch line.

if it's priced reasonably I'll buy one..

I have zero interest in buying one type of player or another, but having both in one player is something that really interests me.

I want HD movies, and I want them on a disc, but I don't want to drop hundreds on discs and equipment that will become obsolete if it looses a format war.

I think if a player like this comes out the format war will never end, instead people will just buy the dual format players and it will wind up like DVD-R and DVD+R

Now if MS would adopt this for a new add on, it would be a great idea. Since MS isn't bound to any of these formats, it would work in their favor. Giving the customers even more choice.
