That too.. later on it could/or will just be one SKU# for sale.. Same goes for m$.. I can easily see the Core Xbox 360 version being phased out of the market as more 360's get sold and parts yield becomes cheaper. Especially once m$ switches their cpu nm process to 65 nanometers instead of the current 90.
Sorry for going off-topic btw.. I know this is the PS3 forum.. =/
EDIT: minus the "shafted part" ?? lol.. depends on what your definition of "shafted" is.. I didn't intend to mean anything sexual or sexual abuse via being shafted. I just ment that early P$3 adopters of the lower-priced version will be ultimately dissapointed as time goes by when $ony intends to fully drop the lower-priced SKU# or just implements HDCP into all P$3 models later down the road, thus allowing ICT to work its process and then being able to watch movies in 1080i/p on Blu-Ray.
i understand what you are stating and agree to an extent, but unlike early ps3 adopters, 360 core owners wouldnt get "shafted" if MS decided to only sell the premium. the only major difference is the HD and the core owners knew what they were getting when they purchased the cheaper version. i truely hope that MS decides to drop the core version once they drop the price of the premium version. with around 90%+ of the 360s having hard drives, whats really the point of the cheaper version once the price is dropped? i understand that a $250 or $200 core 360 sounds attractive, but again i would rather pay the $300 for a premium.
anyways back to the topic, i do see that happening but not until the complete ps3 is cheap enough that price isnt even an issue anymore.
